Mental Whiplash

Mental Whiplash

In the field of graphic design mental whiplash implies a change in the direction of personification due to the sudden realization of our continuous decline in addressing unlimited variations and unpredictable types of content. Whiplash in our field is mostly shown through contemporary graphic design. This technique requires great skills and knowledge and must be acquired during a student’s academic career. Usually students research is used to learn about these methods of design but often students misunderstand the right way of accomplishing a successful research project.

There are two types of briefs given to the students to begin their researches. The first is giving the student to choose the topic for which he will do his project. This allows the student a larger aspiration as he or she will choose a topic they have passion for. The other method is a topic given to the student by the instructor. This will help the student acquire a certain skill.

From the students part they must do their best in order to achieve their goals. Nonetheless putting in mind that students have different abilities and strengths in inventing and re-inventing. The teachers also play a huge role on how the students grasp the knowledge and skills needed. Before selecting the teacher we must see if she qualifies to all the criteria needed.

As a conclusion I would like to say that mental whiplash in this contexts must be treated delicately in order to build a strong backbone in graphic designing.
